A Journey of Knowledge: Taylor's Lakeside Open Day Edition

What a day!!! So many families, so many future undergrads, so many with keen interest to find a brighter, better future. Taylor’s new lakeside campus is massive and well suited for all the different courses available through Taylor’s.

I decided to begin the open day with a campus tour and I had a really good, informative guide for it too. She managed to show me around highlighting interesting facilities to me. She pointed out the Moot Court which is a mock court room for future lawyers to practice closing a cases; mock hotel rooms for future hospitality students to become cleaners...uh...i mean for them to become better hotel managers; audio recording and photo studios for communication or design students to work on their projects and understand the line of work that they will be performing in the future.
But I think by the end of the tour of the academic area, with the weather and all, the best place was the Library. It was the coldest location of the whole campus and it is really much bigger than the previous library that they have. The collection there accommodated to the different courses thus providing students with a reasonable amount of references for their assignments and exams. With the academic area covered, my tour guide took a quick route to the Boardwalk, the commercial side of Taylor’s where all the food shops like Baskin Robbins, Subway, and Starbucks are located. It also holds Taylor’s hostels and its new hotel which was just recently open for the public to set their eyes on. So campus wise I was really impressed with its layout and design.

From my tour, I proceeded to the Hot air balloon ride which was one of the main highlights of the day for me. The purpose of the free hot air balloon ride was also to promote Taylor’s Open Day to drivers on the LDP. The balloon will float up 30 metres high, allowing visitors to enjoy the view of the whole lakeside campus. If I’m not mistaken the hot air balloon began take off from 8am all the way to 12pm. So whoever is early enough they would be lucky to catch the sunrise from the balloon.

{Ignore the frown..it was just too hot at the furnace was above my head}

I proceeded to the multipurpose hall [MPH] where the main event was taking place. Everyone, lecturers and student helpers, really aid in the flow of the crowd, making sure they are comfortable and quickly attended to. I felt the layout of the main hall was well arranged to allow ample amount of seating area to accommodate to the large flow of students and their families coming in. Each school had a booth with suitable and accommodating lecturers who encouraged and provided sufficient information for each course I directed my curiousity to.

The courses I went to find out further information on were, business, hospitality, communication but the one the has grasp my attention was the course for Law .Taylor’s University was voted the most popular private university college for law in 2009.

Students Should Study at Taylor’s Law School because:

  • Rated as The Most Popular Private University College for Law (Source: Trendence Malaysian Student Survey 2009)
  • Taylor’s has an Industry Advisory Panel comprising members from Malaysia’s largest law firms and the Bar Council

The programme offered in Taylor's is the LLB (Hons) – twinning programme with the University of Reading(2+1 or 1+2 full time).

It also provides students with a moot court for the compulsory mooting organised by the School with legal practitioners serving as judges. This facility provides students with real life court room experiences.

TAYLOR'S UNIVERSITY OPEN DAY 2010!!!!

Taylor’s Open Day is back yet again and held at its brand new campus. I got to come across their Open Day flyers and was interested with everything that will be offered during this event.

There are opportunities for me to be able to attend career talks which will aid me in choosing the right path to a better and brighter future, to gain better understanding on selecting the most suited course, but most of all I will not want to miss the chance to have a bird’s eye view of Taylor’s LAKESIDE CAMPUS from a HOT AIR BALLOON ride.

I plan to bring my family and friends to enjoy the open day as they will be able to, not only help me make the best choice to fulfil my future plans, but also share in my fun and excitement with the activities being offered at this event.

I highly recommend all of you to join me and share in all the fun from the 17th, 18th, & 19th of December from 10am to 5pm at Taylor’s most impressive Lakeside Campus.
