TV Series

There is nothing like a good TV series than those that consists of interesting stories, good acting, watchable characters, and also character developments. I've been currently hooked on a few tv series like: NCIS, NCIS L.A., and The Mentalist.

NCIS is currently on its 7th season and I have been watching it from the very 1st season. I was introduced to it through dad who saw it when he was in Sinagpore. He asked me if I could get the series on DVD and so I did. Ever since then I have been quite a good follower of the series. Hehehe...even mom loves it as well.

NCIS not only provides interesting crime stories with each on going episodes, it also provides character developments. It is really interesting to see how each character is affected by certain events in their lives and how they somewhat change and become better people. This series also shows how anyone can make mistakes, no matter how big or small it may be. One of my favorite characters is Anthony Dinozzo, who is played by Michael Weatherly from the fame "Dark Angel" series with Jessica Alba. He is the comic relief of the series as he is full of wit, charm, and has a very watchable charisma. He's also a huge movie fan and movie titles are just at the tip of his tongue.

Just recently, a spin off of the NCIS series was aired and its titled NCIS: L.A. Towards the end of the 6th season of NCIS, both teams from NCIS and NCIS: L.A. worked together to solve a case. So far the series has been alright and I have watched about 8 episodes. Althought it cannot beat the original NCIS series, NCIS: L.A. is still a pretty good watch for the weekend.

Finally, I am really hooked on The Mentalist. The cast is great, the stories are fun, but most importantly the main character is really good at what he does. Patrick Jane (played by Simon Baker) is a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) whose real motive is to apprehend the brutal killer, Red John. The death of Jane's wife and daughter by Red John has taken a great toll on Jane to the point that he is constantly suffering inside by this great loss.

But the most interesting thing that makes his character so watchable is how people around him thinks he is a psychic, yet he isn't. He just has a really great gift of observation and knowledge of human behaviour. Though it may seem like guess work at times yet he makes these guesses after having gathered sufficient information from body language, pictures, etc. Its a great watch and highly recommended as the series has a good mixture of romance, humour, and tragedy.
